Donegal Town Parish Church, and Inset, Rev Canon Harry Trimble
There is much sadness in south Donegal following the death of Reverend Canon Thomas Henry Trimble.
Canon Trimble was Rector of the Donegal Group of Parishes from 1990 to 2001. He and his family lived in the Rectory in Donegal Town, serving Donegal Town, Killymard, Lough Eske and Laghey.
During his time in the area, Canon Trimble was actively involved in a number of local charities, including the Donegal Town Care of the Aged committee.
The Trimble family has maintained strong links with south Donegal.
A spokesperson for Donegal Group of Parishes expressed deepest sympathies to the family of Canon Trimble, adding: “He is very fondly remembered for his warm pastoral care and energetic leadership in the parishes.”
Late of Castelderg, Canon Trimble passed away peacefully at Silverdale Care Home.
He was the dearly beloved husband of Ruby, devoted father of Paul (Sonia), Nigel (Margaret) and Jane (Stephen), cherished papa of Stephen, Craig, Lauren, Sam, Rachel and Mark, dear brother of Dr Bill.
A Service of Thanksgiving for the life of Rev Canon Harry Trimble will be held in Derg Parish Church on Thursday at 2pm. The committal in Castlederg New Cemetery will be private for family only.
