Donegal’s captain Michael Murphy kicked eight frees for DCU but they still went down by five points to their Dublin rivals, DIT, on a scoreline of 1-11 to 0-9 in the semi-final of the Daily Mail Sigerson Cup semi-final in Athlone.
DIT led by 0-8 to 0-4 at half-time and never allowed DCU get close before a goal nine minutes from time finally sealed the issue.
Four Masters’ Oisin McGinty is part of the DIT panel, who will meet UCC or Athlone IT in the final tomorrow.
Renewed concerns have been raised about road safety at the Maginn Avenue junction in Buncrana following another traffic collision that occurred on Friday night.
