Motorists from Donegal who are travelling south on the 15 can expect lengthy diversions and delays due to a fatal road traffic incident.

A woman in her early forties died at the scene approximately 2km on the Donegal side of Grange on Tuesday night. It is believed that she was a pedestrian and was struck by a vehicle.

Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene at 10.15pm, and sadly, the woman was pronounced dead.

Motorists are advised that traffic diversions are in place and the scene has been preserved for examination by scenes of crime officers and Garda Forensic Collision Investigators.

The local coroner has been notified and arrangements will be made for a post mortem examination.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses and are particularly appealing to any road users who were in the Grange area at this time. Investigating gardaí are also appealing to those with video footage, including dash cam, from the scene and along this route to make it available to them.
